Crimson Hefe

Ingredients

Brewing

We followed our usual brewing process. Here are the changes we made.

We put the oranges in a 1/2 gallon of water and brought it up to 160°F. The anise star went into the first hop bag. We ladled 3 cups of wort into a separate pot and put in the coriander. All of the spice was cooled to 70°F and put into the carboy.

Outcome

It took about 4 months of bottle aging for the flavor to come out. It has a really nice orange color. You can smell the oranges in the nose. The flavor is mild and refreshing.
